The public order office of the city of Hamm is now using bodycams to ensure the safety of its employees and to better document possible incidents of violence. This measure aims to improve the prevention of violence and provide clear evidence in the event of an emergency.

Main Objective:
The main objective of the introduction of bodycams is to increase the safety of the employees of the Municipal Public Order Service and at the same time to enable the preservation of evidence during operations. This is intended to contribute to the de-escalation of conflicts.
Application Area:
The bodycams are mainly used in the operation of the Municipal Public Order Service to ensure security, safety and collect evidence of any incidents.
Feedback:
The police in Hamm have already had positive experiences with bodycams, which have helped to defuse situations and document acts of violence. The bodycams have become an integral
part of police equipment. The use of bodycams has also had positive effects in a pilot phase in the municipal public order service. The test phase helped to test the effectiveness and practicability of the various models before a final decision was made on their use.
Following positive feedback, 30 body cams are now being deployed. Pre-recording and data protection security play a particularly important role here.
